Aaron Rodgers’ spell with the New York Jets hasn’t gotten off to the best start as he suffered an injury during team OTAs last week.
Fortunately, it’s nothing too serious, with the quarterback revealing he tweaked his calf and would only be out for a few days. Jets head coach Robert Saleh has since offered a definitive timeline for the player’s return to training.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Saleh revealed Rodgers was recovering well and will continue rehabbing as he looks forward to a Friday return (per Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports).
So the quarterback could be back as soon as tomorrow. His presence could be crucial as chemistry with his new teammates is something the Jets need him to build as soon as possible.
Fortunately, Rodgers is already familiar with a number of the new Jets players, with the team signing some of his former Green Bay Packers this offseason.

On the flip side, there’s no point in rushing a player at this point of the offseason, so Zach Wilson could end up benefitting as he could lap up the lion’s share of the offensive snaps.
The Jets are heading into a championship-or-bust season with Rodgers as their QB, especially given the fact that he’s not certain to be around past the end of the campaign. Should he lead them to glory in 2023, it would mark their first Super Bowl win since 1969.
