Things couldn’t have gone worse for Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on Monday night as the veteran quarterback left the field injured before completing the first drive of his debut.
The former Green Bay Packers star and four-time MVP’s arrival in NY was one of the most anticipated moves of the offseason, yet it appears it might be over before even getting off the ground.
Rodgers stayed down after getting sacked by Buffalo Bills edge rusher Leonard Floyd on a first down play coming from the Jets’ first offensive possession of the marquee matchup.
He was attended to before being helped off the field by members of his team’s medical staff. And it’s believed that the QB may have a torn Achilles, which would mean the end of his season.
The Jets have since announced that it’s an ankle injury. We should know more soon.
Eerily enough, an X user predicted Rodgers would suffer an Achilles injury on his debut. The user, who goes by @DaddyZaslav, tweeted “Aaron Rodgers is going to tear his Achilles on a rain drenched MetLife turf in 2.5 hours” around two-and-a-half hours before the game.

The Jets, meanwhile, called the QB questionable to return before ruling him out in the second quarter. He was seen with a walking boot on his left foot sometime after.
