Aaron Rodgers has given fans quite a scare this Tuesday, with reports of a practice injury surfacing online earlier on.
The New York Jets quarterback is yet to play a game for his new team after they acquired him from the Green Bay Packers via trade this offseason. And, having participated in OTA’s this week, he’s ended up hurting himself.
ESPN’s Dianna Russini revealed the QB was getting checked at practice today after appearing to suffer an injury.
Rodgers is also reported to have confirmed getting injured, with CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson tweeting out that the player hurt his calf. And, given the fact that the Jets have made the 39-year-old their main man heading into 2023, there was a huge collective reaction online.

The injury isn’t expected to keep Rodgers out very long, although you can never tell with these things when you’re approaching 40. But the likelihood is that he will start the first game of the season unless he suffers another setback.
It would really suck for New York if they end up having to deploy Zach Wilson at QB in the coming season after doing all that they’ve done to secure Rodgers, especially as he’s not certain to play in 2024.
