Whether he’s playing or not, Aaron Rodgers is the gift that keeps on giving.
The New York Jets quarterback is done for the season but is keeping up his Tuesday appearances on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ and, this week, delivered quite the soundbite as he referred to Travis Kelce as “Mr. Pfizer.”
The moniker stems from the Kansas City Chiefs tight end appearing in a commercial for Pfizer promoting COVID-19 and flu vaccines. And it seems like A-Rod couldn’t wait for an opportunity to throw that out there while discussing the recent game between his Jets and Kelce’s Chiefs.
“I think there’s some sentiment that there’s some sort of moral victory out there that we hung with the champs and our defense played well and Pat [Mahomes] didn’t have a crazy game and Mr. Pfizer, we kind of shut him down a little bit. He didn’t have a crazy impact game,” he said, prompting a priceless reaction from McAfee.
This is all on brand for Rodgers given that he doesn’t rock with vaccines. But fans were quick to remind him that he’s employed by Woody Johnson, the owner of Johnson & Johnson, which has a COVID-19 vaccine too.

The shot, no pun intended, was also a strange one as Rodgers and Kelce hung out briefly during the game. So this is funny in more ways than one.
Folks are likely to start calling him “Mr. Johnson & Johnson” now. And it will be all his fault.
