Aaron Rodgers broke his silence on the season-ending injury he suffered during his first game as the New York Jets quarterback. A post on social media basically spelled out a guy who had plans on recovering from his torn Achilles and playing again next year.
On Thursday, he spoke out again when he posted from the hospital.
The New York Jets quarterback posted a smiling photo of himself while laying in the hospital bed. He had just had surgery.
Rodgers’ season with the Jets has already come to an end early as he suffered a ruptured Achilles just four plays into his Jets season debut.
Rodgers initially hinted that he could hang it up if the Jets won the Super Bowl this season, but certainly, Monday night is not how one of the game’s greatest wants to go out.
The Jets acquired Rodgers after he spent 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers; he is under contract through next season. With his acquisition, the Jets were primed for their first playoff appearance since 2010. Now the team has no clue how this 2023 season will play out and if Zach Wilson will be the starter throughout. He was benched multiple times in 2022.
