Aaron Rodgers apparently plans to stick around with his teammates and assist them in their quest for a Super Bowl 58 championship.
The four-time league MVP unfortunately suffered a season-ending torn Achilles early in his Jets debut against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. Rodgers suffered the injury on just the team’s fourth offensive snap of the game.
According to JPA Football, Rodgers is planning to hang around and help his teammates while recovering from the injury. This obviously bodes well for Zach Wilson, who suddenly has his starting job back.
During an appearance on “The Michael Kay Show”, New York head coach Robert Saleh expressed hope that Rodgers would stick around with his teammates. Saleh said Rodgers’ “presence is not only welcome, but wanted.”
Wilson and the Jets’ stingy defense kept the team in the game against Buffalo. Rookie Xavier Gipson then finished it off with a 65-yard punt return in overtime, giving the Jets their first Week 1 win since the 2017 season.

The Jets drafted Wilson second overall back in 2021. Of course, Saleh and GM Joe Douglas were both there when New York drafted him, so they obviously have faith in the BYU product to lead the way on offense.
New York will try to improve to 2-0 on the season when they visit the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium this Sunday.
