Sunday night may or may not have marked the final game of Aaron Rodgers’ illustrious career.
Rodgers and the Packers were upset 20-16 by the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field on Sunday night. With the loss, Green Bay was eliminated from playoff contention, and the Seattle Seahawks snuck in as the final wild card team in the NFC.
Rodgers’ future has been a widely discussed topic over the past two years. Ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft, the future Hall of Famer requested a trade from Green Bay. He eventually agreed to return in 2021 and agreed to a three-year extension last offseason.
Following Green Bay’s heartbreaking loss on Sunday night, Rodgers suggested that it might be time to walk away from football altogether, though he also stated he could decide to go on another run.
The Packers missed the playoffs for just the fourth time since Rodgers took over as the starter in the 2008 season. They also missed out that same year as well as in 2017 and 2018.
