On Monday, Aaron Rodgers took to Instagram to share some photos and a message that appeared to send social media into a frenzy.
In the message, Rodgers thanked some of the most important people in his life, from Shailene Woodley to Jordan Love to Randall Cobb. And along with the sincere thank you message was several photos. But it’s the last pic of the bunch that had everyone talking, as it featured a photo of Randall Cobb and Davante Adams standing on the sidelines during the anthem with an empty space between them — where Aaron Rodgers would usually be standing.
Many believed that this could be Rodgers’ way of announcing his retirement — or at least his departure from Green Bay. However, that was not the case.
Rather, according to Rodgers, that image just so happens to be one of his favorites, as it illustrates the respect that two of his favorite receivers of all time have for him. It was from the game against the Chiefs in 2021 that Rodgers missed due to Covid. And according to him, the first time he saw it, it actually made him cry.
So there you have it. Rodgers isn’t retiring just yet. He was just feeling a little sentimental on Monday. Nothing to see here.
