Aaron Rodgers appeared to break ESPN for a moment while making a joke about the vaccine during ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Tuesday.
Rodgers was apologizing to his hosts, Pat McAfee and AJ Hawk, for his lack of a Halloween costume on the show when the conversation inevitably led to the vaccine.
“I had my costume on last night but I couldn’t wear it today,” Rodgers said.
McAfee asked what the costume was, suggesting it might have been a vaccine, doctor, or scientist. But Rodgers claimed it was a spike protein. He was about to say something about the vax when the feed mysteriously cut off.
Some users on social media accused The Worldwide Leader in Sports of cutting the feed on purpose but, as it turns out, that was not the case for all viewers as others revealed they were able to watch, suggesting the issue was with one specific provider.
“Allegedly, we are being told now that when Aaron started talking about the vaccine, they decided to shut the show down,” McAfee quipped.

It’s since been confirmed that the show only went down for one of the cable providers. So no, ESPN didn’t purposely cut Rodgers off because he was talking about the vaccine. They actually had nothing to do with the lost feed.
