Aaron Rodgers’ first drive as a New York Jet ended with an injury that could stop whatever the Jets could’ve had going this year.
During the Jets’ opening drive in the Monday Night Football matchup between the two teams, Floyd took down Aaron Rodgers. He also knocked him out of the game when Rodgers’ ankle seemed to get stuck in the turf.
After initially standing up, Rodgers then went back to the ground and was eventually said to have an ankle injury. He would not be returning. After being sacked by Leonard Floyd, Aaron Rodgers was carted off the field and helped to the locker room by the Jets training staff.
NFL Media’s Mike Garofolo said that Rodgers walked to the X-Ray room with a walking boot on, and has since returned to the locker room still in the walking boot. According the the Monday Night Football broadcast, X-rays were negative on Rodgers’ ankle.
In response to Rodgers being hurt, his former teammate David Bakhtiari, took to X and blasted the terrible MetLife turf.
