Coach Matt LaFleur announced Sunday that LT David Bakhtiari had been removed from the physically unable to perform list and would be eased back into practice.
Aaron Rodgers knew how to celebrate David Bakhtiari’s return by picking up his Pro Bowl left tackle on his way to practice, bumping a little “Gin and Juice” in the cart.
Since the initial injury Dec. 31, 2020, the All-Pro left tackle underwent three surgeries on the knee. He played only 27 snaps, all in the 2021 regular-season finale at Detroit.
It took Bakhtiari almost the entire season last year to get onto the field, and then after the Lions game he was shut down again for the playoffs.
“He’s only going to do individual [drills],” LaFleur said before practice. “So you guys can kind of temper the expectations because I know there’s going to be a bunch of questions now. It’ll just be individual. It’s just the next step, but we are excited to get him out there on the grass. We’ll take it one day at a time.”
Bakhtiari said Sunday the nightmare isn’t quite over.

“I’d say when I probably play in a game,” Bakhtiari said. “This is another step in the right direction. I don’t want to get too ahead of myself. So right now, I’m pleased with where I’m at, and I’m excited to see what tomorrow brings.”
