Aaron Rodgers may have hinted that he’s trying to get the New York Jets to attempt a trade for former teammate Davante Adams. At least that’s how some fans see it.
With the NFL trade deadline three months away, Rodgers has taken a $35 million pay cut to allow the Jets added flexibility as they chase a Super Bowl.
The veteran quarterback recently discussed his move from the Green Bay Packers with NBC Sports’ Peter King. And one thing that stood out was what he had to say about the pay cut.
“Big names move at the trade deadline now. I wanted to make sure that if somebody valuable came available, we’d be able to get him. I’m very happy with the contract. I feel great about it,” the four-time NFL MVP was quoted as saying in King’s Football Morning in America column.
Fans think Rodgers was referring to Adams when he made the comments. You could see some of their reactions below:

Fox Sports’ Craig Carton recently made a guarantee pointing to Adams wanting a trade from Las Vegas.
“I guarantee you there will be reports coming out of Vegas that Davante Adams will want out,” the insider said on his radio show. “And guess where he would want to go?”
Of course, he was referring to the Jets.
