Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers are playing some bad football in 2022, but there is just one loss that the QB can not get over.
The Packers early season struggles continued Sunday as Green Bay dropped its fifth consecutive game in a 15-9 loss to the Lions. It was a game that could’ve easily been won if not for so many terrible mistakes by the Packers in the red zone.
In the Packers’ loss, Rodgers finished 23-for-43 for 291 yards with one touchdown while throwing three interceptions for the first time in five years.
Speaking to Pat McAfee on Tuesday, Rodgers refused to give the Lions credit for the victory.
“No disrespect, but did they play great? I mean, we had 400 yards of offense on them, we’d go up on down the field, I threw an interception off a helmet, I threw an interception five yards short of Dave,” Rodgers said, referring to offensive tackle David Bakhtiari, who lined up as an eligible receiver and slipped past the Lions’ defense unnoticed to get open in the end zone, only to have Rodgers throw the ball short and get intercepted by Detroit’s Aiden Hutchinson.
Rodgers isn’t claiming he played well, but he is saying the Lions’ defense didn’t play particularly well either. “I didn’t play a great game, we made a lot of mental mistakes, but I didn’t think they really stopped us. We had three possessions in the first half and went up and down the field. It was more about us than them,” Rodgers said. [ProFootballTalk via The Pat McAfee Show]
After Sunday’s loss, a reporter asked Rodgers if he regretted not retiring during the offseason. He di not appreciate that line of questioning. Rodgers made it clear that his decision was one that he was “all-in” on and hoping to lead the team to wins.

“When I decided to come back, it was all in and I don’t make decisions on hindsight 20/20, you know, regrets about big decisions like that,” Rodgers said.
Rodgers has thrown for 2,091 yards, 14 touchdowns, and seven interceptions through the first nine games of the season.
Things will not get easier for the Packers signal-caller next week as they get set to face the Dallas Cowboys and his former coach Mike McCarthy at Lambeau Field Sunday evening.
