What is next for Aaron Rodgers?
Aaron Rodgers has a torn left Achilles tendon and the 39-year-old quarterback will miss the rest of the New York Jets’ season. The injury puts Rodgers’ future beyond this season in jeopardy as well, as it is a very tough injury for athletes of any age to come back from, let alone a 39-year-old who is on the tail end of his Hall of Fame career.
As with anything sports-related, a gambling site has dropped odds on whether Rodgers will come back for a 20th season or retire.
Gambling 911 put his retirement chances at 3/1. He is also a -200 favorite to take the Jets first snap of the 2024 campaign.
If he decides to retire, there are also odds on what he will do next for his next job.
Rodgers, making his debut with the New York Jets, was carted off the field after suffering a left Achilles injury on just his fourth play in the team’s Monday Night Football game against the Buffalo Bills.

The injury occurred when Rodgers was sacked by Bills edge rusher Leonard Floyd.
Rodgers’ backup, Zach Wilson, came in to fill the quarterback void and led the team to a 22-16 overtime victory over the Bills after undrafted rookie wide receiver Xavier Gipson returned a punt 65 yards for a walk-off touchdown in overtime.
Rodgers’ most meaningful action would ultimately be him running out onto the field before the game holding the US flag in a tribute to the September 11 terrorist attacks, with the game being held 22 years after the incident.
Jets’ fans were pumped to see Rodgers turn around the team and now they may never will.
