Aaron Rodgers is still undecided about his playing future.
After Rodgers won the NFL MVP award for a second straight year, the Green Bay Packers QB confirmed that his body is still in a good place and expects a decision in the near future.
“I think you’ve got to take some of the emotion out of it and then kind of lean into understanding what it takes to revamp and feel like what’s the best place,” Rodgers said. “The best decision for me moving forward, not really place, more just what does it feel like to commit to a season if that’s what I want to do? The good thing is I still feel like my body is in a good place.”
“I got some decisions to make, for sure,” Rodgers told NFL Network’s Taylor Bisciotti. “Yesterday was like the first day that kind of felt like the offseason… I’m gonna enjoy the next couple of weeks. I’ve had good conversations with Green Bay, and I’ll do some contemplating and make a decision here pretty quick.”
After the loss to the 49ers, Rodgers said that he “doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild.” The team faces some serious salary cap issues after going all-in for 2021–22 and is projected to be $40 million over the cap next season based on the current roster.
Last season, Rodgers finished with 4,115 yards through the air along with 37 touchdowns and only four interceptions.
