The New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers answered to a moment that was reportedly taken out of context by New York Giants Linebacker Jihad Ward.
After a late block from Wide Receiver Randall Cobb on a Giants’ Defensive Back, Ward saw Rodgers and Cobb laughing about it, so he responded with a late hit on Rodgers, resulting in an on field altercation between the two with Rodger saying “I don’t even know who you are.” Though the presumed laugh did indeed happen, Rodgers says it was taken out of context and that Ward is “Making s*** up”.
According to Rodgers, he went to Cobb to scold him about the hit, but ended up laughing about it following and that the incident was innocent. In Ward’s defense the optics don’t look good, regardless of context, and he did the right thing by defending his teammate. Both sides are clearly set in to their stories, and regardless of who’s right, both believe they are.
The Jets and the Giants will face each other on October 29th, and with this situation in the back of their minds, this should be a must watch game between both hometown teams.
