Aaron Rodgers was 90 percent retired at one point this offseason, according to the Green Bay Packers quarterback himself.
Pat McAfee announced Tuesday that Rodgers will be returning to “The Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET amid rampant speculation that the longtime Packers quarterback is on the brink of joining the Jets.
As expected, he came on and finally opened up about his decision.
Rodgers went into detail about how everything transpired. It included a very interested quote where he admitted that he was “90 percent retired” going into his darkness retreat.
As Rodgers claims, by the time he exited his darkness retreat, he was already hearing that the Packers were shopping him around with the intention of moving forward with Jordan Love.

That seemed to rub the Future Hall of Famer the wrong way. He later announced that he now intends to come back as a member of the New York Jets. He’s just waiting on the two sides to work out the compensation in order to make things official.
Rodgers previously went on a four-day “darkness retreat” to help bring him clarity on his future. When he came out of it, Rodgers met with Jets brass in Malibu.
ESPN reported that Rodgers has a “wish list” of players he’d like the Jets to acquire, which included Allen Lazard, who the Jets struck a deal with this week. Odell Beckham Jr. is also on that reported list, along with Rodgers’ Packers pals Randall Cobb and Marcedes Lewis.
