We are now getting to the point where it appears Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is ready to make a decision on his future. Besides a podcast interview, we were still in the dark about what he was going to do with his NFL future until reports surfaced that he was talking the New York Jets front office.
The Jets front office flew to meet with the 39-year-old in his Malibu home on Tuesday and they are reportedly optimistic about their chances of landing the future Hall-of-Famer.
ESPN NFL insider Dianna Russini broke the news Thursday.
“In the wake of an extensive in-person meeting between Aaron Rodgers [and] New York Jeys brass, including owner Woody Johnson, there’s optimism that they are on the brink of landing the future Hall of Fame QB, sources close to the situation tell ESPN,” Russini tweeted Thursday.
Sources told Russini that Johnson left the meeting excited and satisfied about the potential match.
The only thing left to do is for the Jets to work out a package to send the Green Bay Packers that they will be happy with to unload the future hall of fame player. The Packers, who are reportedly willing to meet Rodgers’ demands one way or another, are engaged in conversations about potential compensation and contract.

“Those conversations already started before the meeting,” wrote Russini.
