The Green Bay Packers may have two key offensive players out for Sunday’s Week 2 game against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, running back Aaron Jones and wide receiver Christian Watson didn’t participate in Thursday’s practice as they both continued to rehab their hamstring injuries.
Watson missed the team’s season opener against the Chicago Bears with his hamstring injury. Jones suffered his injury during the third quarter of the contest, which the Packers went on to win 38-20.
Jones had 41 carries for one rushing touchdown and two receptions for 86 yards and one receiving score in the Packers’ blowout win.
Watson suited up for 14 games as a rookie last year, recording 41 receptions for 611 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with two rushing scores. Watson’s seven receiving TDs were tied with Washington Commanders’ wideout Jahan Dotson for the most among all rookies in 2022.
If Watson isn’t cleared to play on Sunday, look for quarterback Jordan Love to once again target Romeo Doubs and rookies Jayden Reed and Luke Musgrave. If Jones is out or limited, fourth-year running back A.J. Dillon can expect a much larger workload.
