Not too many players around the league want action from Aaron Donald, but he got all he could handle from Penei Sewell.
The two big man had to be separated after they grabbed at each other’s facemask as well jerseys during a scuffle in the first half.
Those are two high-profile players going at it right there. Aaron Donald is a three-time defensive player of the year, while Sewell was the seventh overall pick from the 2021 draft. The young tackle and the rest of the Detroit Lions offensive line have done a good job containing Donald through the first half, as Jared Goff has yet to be sacked through one half of football.
The Lions came into the game as huge underdogs, but they’ve been impressive through the first 30 minutes, hanging in there with the 5-1 Rams at SoFi Stadium. They were trailing by just one point at the half, 17-16.
