Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid — son of head coach Andy Reid — reportedly told cops he had two or three drinks and Rx medication before a multi-car accident that still has a 5-year-old in critical condition.
Officers says Andy Reid’s son smelled of alcohol and that his eyes were bloodshot red just moments after the accident. To Make matters worse, the poor girl, Ariel, has still not woken up from that accident.
“Ariel who just turned 5 years old suffered swelling in the brain and bleeding around her brain, she hasn’t woken since the crash,” the girl’s aunt, Tiffany Verhulst, wrote on GoFundMe page for the fundraiser, which includes a photo of the girl hooked up to medical tubes and heavily bandaged while sleeping in her hospital bed. “She is still in very critical condition.”
Reid was driving a white Dodge Ram on Thursday when he collided with a Chevrolet Traverse that was stopped on the side of a highway entrance ramp. The Traverse was trying to aide a driver who had run out of gas, police said.
Reid reportedly admitted to responding officers he’d had between two to three drinks and was on an Adderall prescription. As a result of the accident, Reid will not be at Super Bowl LV.
