San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Deebo Samuel didn’t hesitate to reveal which NFL team he loathes the most.
The 49ers have been part of many epic rivalries throughout their history, namely the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers as well as NFC West foes in the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angelees Rams.
But none of those clubs stand out as Samuel’s most hated team. During an interview with Zion Olojede of Complex Sports, Samuel revealed that the Philadelphia Eagles are currently the team he hates most.
Samuel was asked about his relationship with ex-Rams corner Jalen Ramsey, who was traded to the Miami Dolphins earlier this offseason. That’s when Samuel explained why the Eagles have overtaken the Rams as his most hated club:
“I mean it’s cool. A lot of people think we got beef but in real life, that’s my dog. That’s my partner but on the field, there ain’t no friends. It’s cool, I was happy to see he was excited to move on and go to a different team but going back to your question, (my) most hated team is the Eagles right now. 100 percent…
I mean hey man, we done wiped the Rams so many times. All the trash talk coming from the Eagles fan base and the players, you just get tired of that.”
The 49ers and Eagles met in last season’s NFC Championship Game at Lincoln Financial Field. But the 49ers lost starter Brock Purdy to injury with a UCL injury, and backup Josh Johnson also had to leave the contest after suffering a concussion.
San Francisco wound up putting Purdy back in, but he was clearly physically limited in the contest. The 49ers stood little chance against the top-seeded Eagles, who cruised to a 31-7 victory before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 57.

The Eagles and 49ers are slated to meet again at Philadelphia in the 2023 season. And that game could very well end up deciding who gets home advantage through the NFC side of the playoffs next year.
