San Francisco 49ers fans were holding their collective breath as they watched their best player take one of the nastiest hits you’ll see all postseason.
Attempting to break the 7-7- tie with less than two minutes remaining in the first half, the 49ers were driving down the field when Jimmy Garoppolo hit Deebo Samuel across the middle. The All Pro wide receiver nearly had the catch, but he was blown up by Rams DB Nick Scott in the nick of time.
It was a brutal hit that left Samuel on the ground in pain. The Niners medical staff had to come out and check on the wideout. Here’s another look at the hit from a few different angles.
Surprisingly, Samuel was able to get up under his own power and remain in the game. And the 49ers were able to finish off the drive by kicking a field goal to take a 10-7 lead into the half.
