San Francisco 49ers superstar wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk shared an interesting message on social media as trade rumors surrounding the 26-year-old continue to heat up.
Brandon Aiyuk is entering the final year of his rookie deal with the 49ers, and he’s been eligible for a contract extension since last offseason. But with no extension in sight, many are wondering if the cap-strapped 49ers will end up dealing their leading receiver of 2023.
Aiyuk only added to that speculation by borrowing a quote from Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce. On his Instagram page, Aiyuk used emojis reference the following line:
“Money talks, bull (expletive) walks:
Per Raiders ESPN reporter Paul Gutierrez, Pierce used this exact line on Monday while speaking to reporters about Josh Jacobs’ departure in free agency. Pierce stated, “It’s a business. Money talks, BS walks.”

As you would imagine, some fans can’t help but wonder if Brandon Aiyuk is hinting at a potential move to Sin City after sharing Pierce’s quote on Instagram.
Aiyuk is coming off a career year for San Francisco in which he caught 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. He added nine receptions for 149 yards and one touchdown in three postseason contests.
Trading Brandon Aiyuk Doesn’t Make Sense For The 49ers
The 49ers haven’t at all indicated that they’re listening to offers on Aiyuk. At this point, he’d likely have to flat-out request a trade in order for a move to happen.
But in short, it doesn’t make any sense for the 49ers to trade Brandon Aiyuk. He and Deebo Samuel have been one of football’s most WR tandems over these past three years, and their explosive games have been instrumental in helping San Francisco compete annually for Lombardi Trophies.
The 49ers could trade Brandon Aiyuk for the sake of clearing cap space, but the odds of getting equal value in return are minimal. He perfectly fits their offense and is only entering his prime years. So when all is said and done, expect an extension to get done.
