This is not good.
In just his second start of the 2022 season, Trey Lance went down early in Week 2 and the cart had to be sent out to take him off the field.
On a 2nd & 8 play in the first quarter, Lance kept the ball on a read-option and was taken down awkwardly after running for a few yards. He tried to get back to his feet but quickly noticed something wasn’t right and went back to the ground, only to notice that his foot was pointed in the wrong direction.
Players from both teams huddled around Lance as he was loaded onto the cart and taken off the field. His season is likely done, which is terrible news for the young quarterback and his 49ers. Luckily, they still have Jimmy Garoppolo on their roster.
