It’s not always easy being an NFL rookie, but it can be quite pleasing at times.
Hazing can be brutal, and the 49ers have numerous ways to welcome their incoming rookies to the pros.
One of their rituals is having all first-year players do some sort of performance in front of the fanbase during training camp. On Monday, two first-year offensive linemen, Nick Zakelj and Sam Sam Schlueter had to reenact a classic WWE finish by the one and only, Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Zakelj dropped Schlueter to the ground, then pinned him for the win.
Zakelj then grabbed some water to mimic Stone Cold Steve Austin’s beer-chugging celebration.
As you might know, George Kittle loves wrestling. The San Francisco 49ers star was a guest during ESPN’s First Take last year when moderator Molly Qerim Rose referenced his fandom of the Texas Rattlesnake. Kittle was in the middle of speaking when Austin hopped into the chat.
