Fans of the San Francisco 49ers are getting the disrespect started ahead of Sunday’s NFC title game against the Eagles.
The city’s beloved Rocky Balboa statue was photographed wearing a 49ers shirt Thursday night ahead of Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.
The 49ers fan base is already known for doing this as San Francisco played Philadelphia during the 2021 NFL season and the fans swarmed the city’s famous landmark and wrapped their team’s flag around the Eagles’ favorite cult hero.
The statue was a prop in “Rocky III,” which was released in 1982. When production of the movie was finished, Stallone donated the statue to the city.
As far as the game goes, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts will be facing a 49ers defense that finished the regular season as the best defense in the league, allowing 300.6 total yards per game.

The 49ers have allowed 222.9 passing yards per game, so Hurts might find some success throwing to A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and tight end Dallas Goedert.
For the sake of 49ers fans, they better hope their stout defense shows up.
