We are just a few days away from the 49ers hosting the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium. The anticipation just keeps building. The trash talk has certainly already begun.
Former 49ers running back Raheem Mostert got things going in a recent interview with Go Long TD’s Tyler Dunne when he stirred up the 49ers Faithful. Mostert claimed the Dolphins have “way better talent here” and that Tua Tagovailoa is a quarterback “who can actually sling it,” which many interpreted as a slight to 49ers signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo.
“We have way better talent here,” Raheem Mostert told GoLongTD.com’s Tyler Dunne about the Dolphins, per NBC Sports Bay Area’s Tristi Rodriguez. “It’s going to get spooky.”
On Tagovailoa, Mostert added: “We have a quarterback who can actually sling it.”
The eighth-year veteran saw the backlash online, so he jumped on Twitter and tried to clarify that he wasn’t taking shots at anybody.
“What click bait. Not once did I dog Jimmy G in my interview,” Mostert tweeted Sunday night. “Did I praise our QB1?! Hell yeah I did!! But I also threw out compliments to my former QB. But hey let?s leave that part out?”

49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel saw his initial comments as well as his Twitter response and fired back at him.
“Raheem be real with yourself,” Samuel tweeted Monday.
If the misunderstanding is not cleared offline, the problems can be solved on the football field this Sunday rather than through a Twitter argument.
The upcoming clash between the 49ers and Dolphins looks fascinating on paper.
Deebo Samuel has 511 yards on 44 catches to go along with two touchdowns. He also had another 2020 rushing yards on the ground.
Mostert is the team’s leading rusher at 543 yards, with three touchdowns from the ground and one from the air.
