This is probably the last thing the San Francisco 49ers needed this week.
With the team getting set to travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, they were dealt an added distraction following the arrest of defensive lineman Charles Omenihu.
The 25-year-old defensive end was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges on Monday in San Jose.
More details have since emerged, as a police report on the incident.
In the report, it states that police arrived at the scene at approximately 4:39 PM. When they arrived, they were met by Omenihu’s girlfriend, who claimed that Charles pushed her to the ground during an argument.
Although there were no visible injuries on the victim, she claimed to be experiencing pain in her arm and Omenihu was arrested as a result on his girlfriend’s statement. In addition to the arrest, a restraining order was also issued for Charles.
