49ers rookie QB Brock Purdy’s impressive start to his NFL career is being recognized in the best way.
After he became the first quarterback in team history to win his first three career starts, the Hall of Fame will now show the jersey he wore in the first two of those games in Canton, Ohio.
“From Mr. Irrelevant to Hall of Fame relevant!” the Twitter caption from the Hall of Fame read.
The 23-year-old rookie helped lead the 49ers to impressive wins over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well as the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Commanders.
With Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo out for the year, the 49ers decided to stick with Purdy and not make a move for another QB. It turned out to be a great decision so far. Purdy helped guide the 49ers to a win over the Raiders this past Sunday to become the fifth player in NFL history to win four consecutive games to start his career. Against the Raiders, Purdy completed 22-of-35 passes for 284 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
For the season, Purdy has thrown for 1,196 yards, 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has led the 49ers to the NFC West crown and has them in a position to eventually earn the top seed in the NFC.

He might not see much playing time in 2023, but he can always take solace in the fact that his jersey already is in Canton.
