These rouhging the passer calls are getting more and more ridiculous every week.
San Francisco 49ers defensive end Arden Key thought he had himself a nice sack on Sunday against Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, but then a flag was thrown by a ref.
The refs saved Ryan by calling Key for roughing the passer. It was a very questionable call, to say the least. But the Falcons weren’t complaining, as they were gift wrapped an easy 15 yards and a fresh set of downs.
Apparently, Key should’ve been able to sack him and move his body in mid air to stop himself from falling on the QB.
Ridiculous. The NFL need to address this in the off-season, whether it’s a matter of adjusting the rulebook, or allowing for these roughing the passer calls to be reviewed by a sky judge.
