It’s safe to say James Harrison secured his legacy within the NFL: he won two Super Bowls as a linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and is the team’s all-time sack leader.
Back in 2018, James Harrison retired from the game of football, but that did not mean he was going to stop keeping himself in shape.
Harrison is still out in the weight room pushing his body to incredible limits and just might be the most buff former NFL star in league history. He dropped a new picture of his body this week.
“This is what’s on the other side of motivation, across the bridge of discipline. It’s the place where your goals outweigh your wants! I don’t want to workout sometimes but my goals are > my wants. I NEED to meet my goals, but it’s not for anyone or anything other than ME!”
Back in 2017, at the age of 39, he wowed his Instagram followers by loading a sled with 31 plates totaling 1,395 pounds, and pushing it around a miniature football field. Months alter, he loaded the sled with an additional 405 pounds, to push a total weight of 1,800 pounds.
In 2020, Harrison out did himself again by loaded the sled with 42 plates weighing a total of 1,960 pounds and pushed it for more than five yards.

“I’ve missed way too much for way too long,” Harrison wrote in 2018. “I’m done. Many thanks to my family, coaches, the fans, and everyone who played a role in my football life.”
