Much like his good buddy Odell Beckham Jr. — Jarvis Landry will finally be able to free himself from the shackles of Baker Mayfield and the Browns.
With the recent trade acquisition of Amari Cooper, the Browns have informed veteran receiver Jarvis Landry that he can seek a trade, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The 29-year-old wideout was going into the final year of his five-year, $75 million contract, but now it looks like he will be doing so with another team.
The Patriots, Chiefs, Titans and Jets are reportedly the favorites to strike a new deal with the five-time Pro Bowler.
Landry spent the past four seasons in Cleveland, where he helped the Browns return to respectability after Cleveland went 1-31 in the two years before his arrival. He was a pivotal player in helping Cleveland capture the franchise’s first playoff berth in 18 years in 2020. He caught 12 passes and two touchdowns during the postseason while helping the Browns win their first playoff game in 26 years.
Injuries sidelined the 29-year-old receiver for five games in 2021, his final season in Cleveland.
