If you mention the name Brock Osweiler around Broncos and Texans fans, you will likely be met with bad memories and an era that would love to forget.
Since flaming out of the NFL, the 31-year-old has had a career change that will keep him close to the game. According to an announcement from ESPN, Osweiler is joining the Worldwide Leader as a college football analyst. He will team up with play-by-play commentator Anish Shroff and sideline reporter Taylor McGregor.
“College football is so special, and there’s nothing like the pageantry and excitement that takes over the stadium on a fall Saturday,” said Osweiler. “I can’t wait to be part of the team at ESPN and share the perspective and passion I have for the game I love. Since retiring, I’ve thought about football every day and I’m truly excited for this next chapter.”
“Since the playing days have ended, probably one of the best days of the year is Saturdays during the fall,” Osweiler said in an interview with 9NEWS. “I wake up, “College GameDay” is on right away. Cooking all day, kids are running around, friends are over. I love college football Saturdays. From sunrise to sunset, I’m on it. So this felt like a fit for my love and passion, college football. Felt like the right time.”
Osweiler played five seasons with the Denver Broncos and was on the team that won a Super Bowl. He also had stints with the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins before retiring in 2019.
Osweiler finished his career with a 15-15 record as a starter, 7,418 passing yards, a 59.8 completion percentage, 37 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions.
