Philadelphia Eagles fan Tyler Sabapathy has his entire city in mourning this week.
The Temple University student died from his injuries after falling from a light pole as Eagles fans celebrated the team’s Super Bowl berth over the weekend.
The school announced that a first-year student tragically died on Tuesday after suffering “critical injuries” over the weekend.

Tyler Sabapathy was attending Temple University and passed away due to a severe brain injury.

In the video, the young teenager could be seen high atop a light pole before he loses his grip as his legs collide with a street sign on his way down. His body then appeared to turn as he fell back and head-first to the ground.
Reports at the time indicated that the Philadelphia Eagles fan was on the ground for over 30 minutes and transported to Jefferson Hospital with a brain injury from head trauma.
Prayers were sent his way, but unfortunately, his injuries were far too terrible for him to recover, and now his family and friends are devastated.

“As a member of the university’s club gymnastics team, Tyler displayed exceptional self-discipline and work ethic, spending countless hours a week training and honing his craft. He was loved by his teammates, friends, and coaches here in Philadelphia,” a school spokesperson wrote, per NBC Philadelphia.
Sabapathy wasn’t just a Philadelphia Eagles fan. The native of Toronto, Canada, was also a student at Temple’s College of Public Health, where he majored in exercise and sports science.
Not to mention, Sabapathy was also an accomplished gymnast who won more than 120 medals in various regional and international competitions.

Tyler Sabapathy, the Philadelphia Eagles fan who fell from a light pole following the Philadelphia Eagles NFC championship game victory over the Washington Commanders, passed away on Tuesday.
He was only 18-years-old.
It was a such a tragedy that it happened during what was suppose to be a great night as the team gets set to play in the Super Bowl.
Hopefully, the team can go out there and win one for him.
