Phoenix police are searching for suspects who reportedly stoke $100,000 in NFL property.
Super Bowl 57 between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will be played next Sunday at State Farm Stadium (home of the Arizona Cardinals) in Glendale, Arizona. This will be the third Super Bowl game to be held in the venue.
Per Arizona Family News, perpetrators stole NFL equipment worth $100,000 at a Super Bowl Experience event in downtown Phoenix. No suspects have been arrested at this time, and police are asking for the public to come forward with any information:
“Phoenix police responded to a report about a theft around 5 p.m. near Washington and 2nd streets. Two unidentified suspects stole the property from a third-party vendor, police say.”
State Farm Stadium also hosted two all-time Super Bowl classics: Super Bowl 42 in 2008, where the New York Giants defeated the previously undefeated New England Patriots and Super Bowl 49, where Malcolm Butler’s goal line interception off of Russell Wilson in the final minute secured the Pats their fourth Super Bowl victory.
The Eagles and Chiefs won Super Bowl 52 and Super Bowl 54, respectively. The winner of this game will inch one step closer to dynasty status. Philadelphia opened as a small 1.5-point favorite for the big game.
