Underachieving or past-their-prime NBA players usually head overseas to resume their playing careers. Lots of NHL players head to the KHL or other leagues in Europe. But for many years, failed NFL players didn’t have many other options.
Some of them tried the CFL, but many opted to just give up football altogether rather than head north. But with the Alliance of American Football entering the fold, players who haven’t succeeded in the NFL now have the chance to revive their playing careers somewhere else.
There are some talented football players that just haven’t gotten their break in the NFL, but perhaps the switch over to AAF will save their careers.
