Making it to the National Football League is an opportunity to create generational wealth for your family. From the hundreds of thousands made by fringe roster guys all the way up to the multimillion made by superstars, taking care of your earnings is important to creating a future. Some players didn’t get that memo, however, and have made some really big purchases over the years. Some paid off, but others? Not so much. These are 10 NFL Players That Own Crazy Expensive Things.
10. Chad Ochocinco – $100,000 semi-truck
As a 32nd birthday present to himself, Ochocinco bought a custom super truck. While similar trucks run from $90,000-$115,000, this big rig was a custom job. It’s possible that the former star Bengals receiver and Hall of Famer spent even more than that on a toy to flex. Trucks like his also typically get around seven miles per gallon, so driving it around is almost as expensive as the truck itself. This is just one of his many antic-riddled purchases.
9. Jimmy Graham – Planes
One of the greatest tight ends of the 21st century has an expensive hobby. After taking a ride on a plane as a sophomore in college, Graham earned his pilot’s license in 2012. Now, he owns at least two biplanes, which can cost upwards of $400,000 each. Taking into account his lessons, hanger space and the planes themselves… it’s safe to say he’s spent close to a million dollars indulging his hobby. While Graham is a trained pilot, his talents are more equipped for the ground than the air.
8. Aaron Donald – Iced out chain
The Los Angeles Rams big-body defensive anchor once purchased an iced-out chain with a pendant displaying his name and jersey number for a quarter million dollars. While it has been a staple accessory to his wardrobe, you have to question the future Hall of Famer spending $250,000 on a piece like that.

7. Brandon Marshall – Southwest ranches
The great former wide receiver Brandon Marshall has earned hundreds of millions of dollars along the way, playing for the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants, New York Jets, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints and the Miami Dolphins since breaking into the NFL in 2006. His ranch property, including six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a spa, a gym, an entertainment room, and a full-sized basketball court, comes in at the whopping price tag of $5 million.
6. Tom Brady – New England Estate
If you’ve been looking for a sprawling estate in Brookline, Massachusetts, Tom Brady’s home will only run you a slight $40 million. Custom-built in 2015, the nearly 10,000-square-foot home boasts a spa and massage room, gym, and wine room. If that isn’t enough, friends and family can also choose to stay in the property’s barn-like 2,400-square-foot guest house complete with its own yoga studio. When you’re the greatest of all time, you certainly get the act like it when it comes to your home.
5. Drew Brees – Bugatti Veyron
As one of the league’s greatest to ever do it, Brees amassed a fortune along with his fame in New Orleans. Out of the five cars that he owns, the ultra-luxurious Bugatti Veyron is his most expensive one, coming in at a price tag of a cool $2.2 million. He’s not shy about revving those engines, despite a previous accident he should be grateful to have survived. Playing as risky off the field as the future Hall of Famer did off it, if danger can be an addiction for some people, this certainly serves as proof.
4. Carson Palmer – Del Mar estate
The former quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Arizona Cardinals has amassed significant wealth in over 15 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He takes pride in his half-acre land in Del Mar, which he purchased for $4.4 million many moons ago. Palmer dropped $20 million on the design and construction of his new mansion, standing atop his 8,000 square-foot estate, which has a massive parking area dedicated to his bevy of luxury cars.
3. Tom Brady – Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
Like it was said previously, when you’re the greatest of all time, you get to play like the greatest of all time. Seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady has a multi-million dollar vehicle collection, including the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. The Bugatti is the most expensive car in Brady’s garage, coming in at an astonishing $3 million. It’s not a vehicle that Brady reportedly takes out of the garage often. It has an 8.0-liter W16 engine, producing a whopping 1,200 horsepower. The vehicle has a top speed of 268 mph and goes 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds.
2. Bryant McKinnie – $100,000 bar tab
Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie spent $100,000 at a Los Angeles nightclub in 2011. Most of the money went to the 15 bottles of very expensive champagne. The big bash started off at the 2011 NBA All-Star “Kick-Off Party” at MyHouse nightclub in LA, hosted by rapper Rick Ross and model Rosa Acosta. McKinnie was set to make $4.9 million in 2011, but a lockout abbreviated that amount to make his pockets feel this one a little harder.
1. Aaron Rodgers – Malibu home
Future Hall of Famer and five-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers has a super mansion made for the league’s best. Last purchased for a whopping $28 million in 2019, Rodgers’ lavish Malibu mansion comes out at roughly $6,040 per square foot, the most in the league for a home. The Super Bowl champion has certainly earned enough to pay for the dreamy California estate several times over, having earned a staggering $305.6 million throughout his 18-season NFL career.
