This just gets worse and worse for the New York Giants.
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, at least one team asked Daniel Jones to workout for them during the combine, but not as quarterback, but rather as a tight end.
They did so because they didn’t think he was good enough to play the QB position.
As it would turn out, the New York Giants would select him with the #6 overall draft pick, essentially making the 6-foot-5, 221-pounder the eventual successor to Eli Manning.
Besides the Arizona Cardinals taking Kyler Murray with the #1 over all pick, the only other team who would go on to take a QB was the Washington Redskins, who selected Dwayne Haskins at No. 15.
During his final year at Duke — Jones passed for 2,674 yards with 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing 60.5 percent of his throws.
