The Buccaneers Vs 49ers injury report week 14 is topped with the sidelining of Jimmy Garoppolo after a left foot fracture suffered in week 13. While many people were looking forward to Garoppolo facing off against Brady for the first time, fans will instead be getting Brady vs Brock Purdy, aka Mr. Irrelevant. Let’s jump into the Injury report for week 14 for the Bucs Vs 49ers.
Jimmy Garoppolo Injury Update:
Jimmy Garoppolo sustained a significant left foot injury on Sunday’s game against Maimi. Initial reports thought it could be a season-ending injury, possibly a lisfranc fracture. A Lisfranc injury occurs when there are either broken bones or torn ligaments in the midfoot area.
After receiving an MRI and multiple opinions, ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that the broken foot won’t require surgery, making it possible for him to return in seven or eight weeks. There is even a possibility that he could return late in the playoffs.
In the meantime, the 49er’s fate is in the hands of the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, Brock Purdy. The final pick is always nicknamed “Mr. Irrelevent”. Purdy played college ball for Iowa State and went for 25 of 37 for 210 yards and two touchdowns in week 13 against the Dolphins.
How will this rookie QB fair against a 21-year veteran and arguably the best quarterback of all time? We will find out on Sunday!
Other Notable 49er’s Players on the Injury Report Week 14
One of the most notable players that is injured on the 49ers is OT Hassan Ridgeway who is out for 6-8 weeks after suffering a pectoral strain on Sunday.
