If somebody told you that Colorado could possibly be making its way back to the national scene in college football, you would think that person was crazy. It took just one hire of Deion Sanders to change everything.
Sanders is here and now he is bringing talent with him. Florida Atlantic head coach Willie Taggart was fired by the Owls on November 26th after finishing his tenure with a 15-18 record.
According to a new report released this Monday, it appears he will be joining Deion in Colorado. Per Doug Samuels of Football Scoop, Taggart will reportedly join recently-hired Colorado head coach Deion Sanders in Boulder.
“Willie Taggart reportedly joining Deion’s staff,” Samuels tweeted Monday.
Taggart previously rebuilt programs at Western Kentucky and South Florida before going on to lead programs at Oregon, Florida State, and FAU. Joining Sanders will mark the first non-head coaching job Taggart has had since 2009, when he was coaching the running backs at Stanford.
Taggart will bring invaluable head coaching perspective and serious recruiting ties.
