Meet Nika Muhl the UConn Huskies rising star
Nika Muhl, the Croatian basketball player, plays as a point guard for the UConn Huskies. She is currently in her Senior year at the University of Connecticut and her journey began at the college on 8 April 2019. In her freshman year, she was putting up impressive stats by averaging 5.0 points, 2.7 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.8 steals in 22 games.
Her game style evolved in her sophomore year and she was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Year for the 2021-22 season. She earned this honor after averaging 2.2 steals per game that season. Her Junior year allowed her to shine at UConn, the Huskies were without their star player Paige Bueckers for most of the season, and in her absence, Nika became the team’s most important player.
In November of 2022, she set the program record for the most assists in a single game by dishing out 15 assists against NC State. She is also placed 2nd in the assists chart for female college basketball players in the nation. She only trails Caitlin Clark on that list by 2 assists, however, she is also quite the scorer and is an offensive threat if left unguarded.
