Washington State superstar quarterback Cameron Ward, in the words of LeBron James, is taking his talents to South Beach.
On Saturday, Ward announced on X/Twitter that he his committing to the Miami Hurricanes’ football program. This unexpected move comes after Ward initially declared for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
Like Texas’ Quinn Ewers and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Ward was draft eligible and could have turned pro this year. But those two, along with Ward, have decided to play another year of college football.
While Ewers and Sanders will stay with their respective teams, however, Ward will transfer to a Miami team that lost starter Tyler Van Dyke via the transfer portal. Van Dyke announced last month that he was transferring to the Wisconsin Badgers.
The 6-foot-2, 223-pound Ward threw for 3,725 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions last season to go along with 144 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
