The Washington Huskies made it to the College Football Playoff as they rode a wave of consistent brilliant displays from quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
But they will be going into their game against Texas without their backup QB as Dylan Morris has decided to throw his name into the transfer portal.
That is according to Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports, who reported as much on Monday.
Morris has backed Penix up in the last two seasons after making 15 starts between 2020-2021 and is likely keen on more playing time as he has one year of availability left. He featured in four games this season, completing 9-of-14 passes for 224 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Morris earned All-Pac-12 honors after the shortened 2020 season, having made four starts. He made another 11 starts the following season, completing 60.6 percent of his pass attempts for a total of 2,468 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, with the Huskies going 4-8.
While Penix usurped him as the starting QB at Washington, he could turn out to be a good fit for a program needing a quarterback with experience.
