The Washington Huskies have landed themselves a new starting quarterback to take over the reins from Michael Penix Jr.
Per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers told the network that he has committed to the Huskies’ program. Penix Jr. is expected to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft, and many project him to be a first-round pick.
Rogers has spent his first four NCAA seasons with the Bulldogs, tallying 12,315 passing yards and 94 touchdowns against 28 interceptions.
Penix and the No. 2 ranked Huskies will face the No. 3 ranked Texas Longhorns in the Sugar Bowl, with a trip to the national championship game on the line. The other playoff game will see No. 1 ranked Michigan face No. 4 ranked Alabama.
