Now that the Detroit Lions have traded Matt Stafford for Jared Goff, other quarterbacks are now being thrust into trade rumors this offseason.
This week, reports broke that the San Francisco 49ers were interested in trading for Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins. On top of that, the 49ers reportedly had already offered their current QB in return.
Vikings insider Chad Graff of The Athletic has since responded to the rumors.
“I believe San Fran is interested in Cousins,” Graff wrote on Twitter. “I don’t believe the Vikings are dying to trade Cousins unless it’s a great deal for them.”
Cousins is coming off a season where he threw for 4,265 yards and had a career-high 35 touchdowns with 13 interceptions, but the Vikings finished the year 7-9.

In 2021, Cousins will earn a base salary of $21,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $31,000,000 and a dead cap value of $41,000,000, according to Spotrac.
