On Saturday, the third-ranked Texas Longhorns took on the tenth-ranked Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor in what should have been one of the best games of the week. However, the Longhorns stomped on Michigan en route to a 31-12 victory.
Despite that, Texas is getting roasted online for their failed celebration after the game. Running back, David Gbenda went to plant a Texas flag in the middle of the field but couldn’t break the turf’s surface, so the flag fell straight down.
Of course, every big college football fan can remember when Baker Mayfield successfully pulled that off with the Oklahoma flag at Ohio State.
Many online are now making fun of Texas for failing miserably at trying to replicate it.

“That UTexas education never went over what will happen with a flag pole and turf with concrete under it,” one comment said.
“You can try to copy Baker Mayfield but you’ll never be him,” said another.
“This is sad. OU beat a 12 win Ohio state when Baker planted the flag in 2017 lol. Texas just beat a 6-6 Michigan team,” said a third.
Of course, though, despite the failed attempt, Texas certainly has the last laugh after the big win.
Texas Longhorns Start The Season 2-0
The Longhorns are off to an amazing start to the season. In Week 1, they destroyed Colorado State 52-0 and looked extremely impressive.
However, their first real test would always be Michigan, going to play in front of a very hostile Ann Arbor crowd. It’s their first season playing in the SEC, and they have clearly shown they can hold their own against even the toughest opponents.
They’re certainly trending toward being a top team when the playoffs come around.
