The first edition of EA Sports College Football, titled “Bill Walsh College Football”, was released in 1994. The game was available on Sega CD, Genesis and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
After two years with Walsh’s name, the title was changed to “College Football USA” for the 1996 and ’97 editions. From 1999 to 2014, the title was switched to “NCAA Football” with its corresponding year.
EA Sports College Football 25 Is Selling Quickly
The video game manufacturing giant announced on Friday that 2.2 million unique players started playing EA Sports College Football 25 during the “Early Access” period, and that 600,000 more played via the early trial.
Considering how long fans have waited for a new installment, it wouldn’t be surprising if this year’s edition became the most sold copy yet. The last edition that was released in 2013 managed to sell over one million copies, so it bodes well for EA Sports that they already got 2.2 million unique players in the Early Access stage.
