Nick Saban was roasted on ‘College GameDay’ this Saturday, with Pat McAfee taking a wild shot at him on live television.
The ESPN show was back on the road this weekend, setting up at College Station, Texas, for the top-25 match between Notre Dame (No. 7) and Texas A&M (No. 20). But, as usual, multiple other fixtures were discussed, including another Saturday matchup: Boise State vs. Georgia Southern.
Saban, who joined the show this season following his retirement as the head coach of Alabama’s football program, lamented not being able to hire new Broncos offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter while he was with the Crimson Tide.
“Dirk Koetter is one of the offensive coordinators I always tried to hire at Alabama, could never get him. He’s at Boise. He’ll do a great job,” Saban noted.
McAfee saw an opportunity for a shot and took it.
“That’s ’cause you were spending all your money on your players, coach,” he joked, drawing laughter from the rest of the panel.
“We had a low budget,” Saban said with a smile.

Fans Expect Nick Saban To Get Fed Up With Pat McAfee
Nick Saban didn’t appear offended, yet fans reckon he might get sick of Pat McAfee at some point.
“This duo may not end well. Pat looks kinda funny staring at the camera and not Nick,” one observed.
“Saban is going to end up punching McAfee at some point this season,” another predicted.
Saturday marked the former coach’s first on-campus trip as a full-time ‘College GameDay’ crew member. They will visit Ann Arbor for Michigan’s showdown vs. Texas next weekend.
Saban is going to have to be careful what he says.
