Nebraska Cornhuskers fans, predictably, didn’t have the warmest reception for Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders before Saturday evening’s highly-anticipated showdown at Memorial Stadium.
Scott Procter of The Coloradoan shared a video of Shedeur Sanders warming up on the field two hours before kickoff. In the video, you can hear some Cornhuskers fans chanting, “F**K CU” while Sanders works through activities (WARNING: VIDEO CONTAINS LANGUAGE THAT IS NSFW):
No love is lost between Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes and Matt Rhule’s Cornhuskers. Their rivalry began way-back-when in 1898 and gradually grew into one of the most heated in college football.
Entering Saturday’s game, the Buffaloes had won the previous three meetings. Last year, Shedeur Sanders picked apart the Cornhuskers with 393 passing yards and four touchdowns in a 36-14 blowout victory — Colorado’s first home game in the Deion Sanders era.

The Buffaloes were one of the top stories early in the 2023 season, having stunned the football world with a perfect 3-0 start. But as the schedule got more difficult, the Buffs came back to earth and lost eight of their final nine games to finish 4-8.
Nonetheless, there was a lot to like about the first year of the Deion-Shedeur Sanders era. The school generated millions more in revenue (the “Prime Time effect”) and still quadrupled their win total from 2022.
After visiting the Cornhuskers, the Buffaloes will continue their mini road trip with a showdown in Colorado State next Saturday. As for Nebraska, they’ll stay home before welcoming Northern Iowa on Saturday as well.
